They have made a billboard to advertise the new newspaper so people find out and get excited about the new newspaper.
This poster entices readers to get the new newspaper. They have used word play to get readers to carry on reading.
The title for this newspaper came about because next weekend will see the birth of your favourite paper The Sun. From today your favourite paper will be available seven days a week, making every day a Sun day.
News International is to use the UK music industry’s biggest night the Brit awards 2012 as a starter for its multimillion campaign ahead of the launch of The Sun on Sunday.
The TV and press campaign is part of what is understood to be a £3m marketing push by News International to drive sales and establish The Sun’s new Sunday edition which launches this weekend.
The TV campaign which has been created by a team from Sir Martin Sorrell’s WPP (a world leader in marketing communications), will run during the two hour awards show and is expected to be rolled out to other channels later this week.
The press ads which will feature a full page strapline (a secondary headline gives more information about them) “four days till The Sun on Sun day” will debut in Wednesday’s edition of the Sun: it is not clear if News International has plans to try and run the ads in rival newspapers.
The ads run with the payoff line: “In Britain the Sun comes out every day”.
By clicking on this you can fill in a form to get The Sun on Sunday newspaper to be sent to your house. Or to reserve your copy of the newspaper.
This will help me when creating my own billboard as this is a good billboard advert to use as it is an up to date advert. This is showing a newspaper that is continuing but updating to make it a seven day newspaper to get a new lease so more people will buy it. Lots of people have been posting comments on The Sun website getting excited about getting a decent paper. One person said on The Sun website “Yippee!! I can't wait!! It seems like an eternity since there has been a decent paper on Sunday, so now we can all relax, put our feet up and know that from now on, every month is going to be A MONTH OF SUN DAYS!!!” They have also changed the title to make it relevant and used a clever word play to make people interested in the newspaper. This is showing the latest newspapers way of advertising which will help me when creating my own billboard as they have used several advertising methods to get as many people as possible to buy and get their latest newspaper. They have also used key colours red, white and black for the billboard, poster and form. Readers know that they are reading something from The Sun newspaper as the key colours red, black and white colours they have continued this on the new newspaper to allow readers to know that it is linked to The Sun newspaper. This will help me with my own newspaper, billboard and website so that I know that I should use key colours to draw readers to know when they see those colours what they are reading. They have also used different fonts and sizes of writing to keep readers interested in what they are reading. This will also help me when creating my newspaper, billboard and website as I will use different fonts and text size to keep readers interested. On the background of the form they have added images of newspapers so readers know that this is the form for newspapers. This helps me as I know I have to let my readers know that my billboard and website are to do with the newspaper.
